The Maze Bar in Da Lat is my favorite experience in the city. You order a drink at the start of the maze, then wander around and get lost in the winding staircases and neon-lit tunnels as you search for the bar at the end. This is a really fun and unique spot for a night out, just make sure you go with friends 😂.

LOCATION

The maze bar is located in the city center, near the central market. It was only a 5 minute drive from my accomodation at Da Lat Family Hostel (which provided free transport to the maze). You can find the location here.

You can enter the maze by purchasing a drink from the bar at the entry. They have all kinds of alcoholic beverages, but you can also just buy a cheap soda like one of my friends did. 

MY EXPERIENCE AT THE MAZE BAR

Drinks in hand, we entered the maze by descending the staircase next to the bar. We made sure to go to the bathrooms upstairs first because we had no idea if there were bathrooms in the maze. Immediately we entered a world of cave-like tunnels, winding staircases and hidden rooms, mostly lit by neon lights. It very much felt like a jungle gym for adults, there were so many directions to climb and explore. 

After a few minutes wandering we heard the faint sounds of music and decided to follow its sound looking for the end. This led us on a climb as we navigated through cracks and up staircases and ladders as the music got louder. Soon enough we emerged through a tunnel and we found ourselves in the bar at the end! 

The bar was lively and pretty packed, it had a balcony overlooking the city below. We had ended up several stories up in the building from where we had started; it was just a short descent down a staircase to the bathrooms from the start and then the exit. We had a good time here talking to other people who had gone through the maze, apparently it goes pretty deep and you can wander a long time if you keep descending. We didn’t go very deep this time but next time maybe we’ll give it a shot!
